Ink´d Serving Bowl von Kiki van Eijk für 1882 Ltd
61,00 € *
zzgl. 39,00 € Versand

For the Ink´d earthenware collection, Dutch designer Kiki van Eijk found inspiration in the Stoke-on-Trent potters—think strong bodies and richly ornate tattoos—who make the most precious and delicate objects. Trying to capture these muses in ceramic form, van Eijk studied tattooing techniques and experimented with pigments. The result is a series of sturdy tableware, each piece “tattooed” with animal illustrations drawn from traditional English china. At once tough and tender, these pieces are safe to use in both the dishwasher and the microwave. 1882 Ltd is a traditional ceramic producer for the 21 st century. Originally set-up by the Johnson Brothers in the heart of the Stoke-on-Trent potteries in 1882, the company today remains a family business, brought back to life in 2011 by Emily Johnson and her father Christopher. Frequently collaborating with the most sought-after contemporary designers, Emily hopes to bring inventively designed ceramics to a wider audience while testing the skill and patience of the Master Potter, Christopher Johnson, and the incredibly talented potters, modelers, and makers that reside in Stoke-on-Trent.
